At 20 years, Bazzi is one of the youngest stars to make a notable breakthrough into the charts in recent years, with his breakthrough attributed to social media. Just at 4 years, Bazzi was already playing guitar, alongside the oud and just at 6 years, he was already envisioning himself as a rock-star, playing music to tens of thousands of people. Beginning of 2012, he started making covers of songs and posting them on his YouTube channel, alongside his friend Rajiv Dhall. In November 2014, Bazzi moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music vocation, after which he completed high school at Santa Monica High School in 2015.

The rise to fame of Bazzi was through his video social platform, Vine, which he used to post music, before the platform was closed down, which made him resort to YouTube. With the account created in July 2013, by 2015 he had already amassed 1.5 million followers on the website. As of September 2015, he broke the airwaves by launching his original track “Bring Me Home” a factor that introduced a new industrial standard for Viners.
By sharing his performances on YouTube to his online audience, Bazzi later made it to feature on Fancy Cars’ track “Fun” in 2016 and over the progression of the following 2 years, he released several singles, containing Alone, Got Friends, Beautiful and sober. In October 2017, Bazzi released another single entitled “Mine”. The 2-minute 14 seconds song gained popularity after becoming an internet meme as it struck a chord with music lovers across the world. The song has been streamed over 70 million times across the world and the music video for the single picked up over 11 million views on YouTube. In January 2018, “Mine” featured in Billboard Hot 100, making a debut at number 56. As of April, the same year, the song had peaked, being number 11 on the list. Still, in 2018, Bazzi released new singles namely “Why”, “Honest” and “Gone”. On March 13, 2018, he was named among the VIP performers to grace the Camilla Cabello’s Never Be the Same Tour’s North American segment; later in April, he launched his long anticipated debut album ‘Cosmic’ which was rated at 14th on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.

Through his humble start of uploading videos online, Bazzi boasts of several achievements, all in his name, with over 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 100,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel inclusive. The official audio of “Mine” on YouTube has logged 5.2 million global views since its release on October 12th 2017, presently earning 30 million weekly streams with a total worldwide streaming number exceeding 240 million to date and sale equivalents exceeding 1 million in the US alone. Moreover, the “Mine” companion video is an equivalent sensation since its release on January 31st, now boasting over 31 million views on YouTube alone. Furthermore, Bazzi’s new single “Why?”, which was released on January 26th, saw the official audio clip growing to over 250,000 global views on YouTube so far. With Bazzi set to perform at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this summer in Manchester Tennessee, it’s definitely an achievement, for it’s his first ever festival performance.
