You’ll love this if you fancy MGMT. What would it sound like if Daft Punk were a cosmic rock band fronted by David Bowie? Brooklyn’s Sensual Harassment just might be the answer. The enigmatic trio are back this month with another searing new single, following the release of their much-blogged/buzzed about “Soldier/Daddy Long Legs” EP last year. “Fever” is a scorching pop hook charged with tribal percussion, beaming synths, and a strangely haunting vocal refrain that is instantly memorable on first listen alone. Working again with engineer Jesse Cannon (The Cure, Animal Collective), the band has mastered the delicate art of making vintage gear sound new, creating a sonic vision that is every bit their own. Stay tuned – this could be the year Sensual Harassment breaks through as one of Brooklyn’s most exciting new bands. stats
