The second artist to get the Swedish Boot Mafia treatment is Erik Hassle and his “Hurtful”. Erik Hassle popped up from nowhere, laying his hands on the runner-up position in the Metro Music Challenge in 2008. That rendered him a deal with Roxy Recordings, which subsequently was transformed into an international deal with Island Records and Universal Republic. His “Hurtful” gained him a lot of fans immediately. And after the Guardian hyped him – well, the rest is kinda history. In February 2010, “Hurtful” was re-released in a slightly altered version worldwide, including the UK. The Swedish Boot Mafia still wasn’t too happy with it and decided to give it the onceover.
