Produced in collaboration with the creative collective Ouich’ Eaters, FOR SOME REASONS I WANT TO TALK is the debut EP of the Parisian quartet Duellum. Formed in Paris in 2007, Duellum’s main influences are bands such as The Wombats, The Maccabees and Foals. They also relate to minimalist artists like Philip Glass or Steve Reich. However, one of the most proeminent inluences of Duellum are the French legend Phoenix. The sound of Duellum is an ideal mix of influences, musical experiences and estethical aspirations. Filled with a kind of a happy melancholy, never pessimistic, the songs refer to a metaphorical vision of existence, its steps, stages and back and forth progressions. Like one can experiences them. Having played many shows between London and Paris over the past years, and with the release of their debut EP, Duellum aims at definitely belonging to the European alternative indie rock scene. stats
