Fueling in his electro-breakdance, ebm and acid house roots as an early ‘raver’ in the 80s and 90s into an always fresh, eclectic and inventive hybrid sound, Plastique De Rêve sets out to continue to break new musical frontiers, while retaining his own distinctive ‘plastic’ sound.
This digital EP called ‘Jeux Sans Frontières’, released on Kitty-Yo’s sublabel Kitty Cuts, features 5 very different tracks of ‘multispeed varistyle’ electronic dance music, between electro-breakdance and baile funk, booty bass, acid house and techno, with wicked basslines and beatbox programming, funky hooks and catchy vocal cut-ups.
Each track tells its own story, taking the listener on a round-the-world trip, from Rio to Berlin via Chicago, Montreal, London…
This is track 2: “Allright (dub)”, originally just a try at something like ‘dub-step’, but it evolved into a funkier thing, complete with a biiig bass, a catchy garage house chorus, and some old school electro hip-hop cut-ups.
