Folk-pop siren Ellie Goulding follows up on the success of her debut gold album ‘Lights’ with the release of new single ‘Guns and Horses’ on May 17th on Polydor Records.
The 23-year-old Hereford-born singer-songwriter continues to ride a wave of critical acclaim and is well on the way to becoming the first success story of 2010. Her debut album ‘Lights’ has currently sold over 125,000 copies and beat Lady Gaga to the top spot in the album charts, whilst her pulsating electro-folk single ‘Starry Eyed’ hit the top five and has sold almost 300,000 copies to date.
Whilst Ellie has made a name for herself with her electro-infused pop, ‘Guns And Horses’ showcases her folkier side and songwriting skills. As a student she composed all her songs on an acoustic guitar and would regularly perform at open mic nights. With acoustic guitars, gentle glockenspiel and the sparing use of synths, ‘Guns And Horses’ combines the pastoral with the electronic whilst the surreal video, shot in LA, features Ellie wandering through a forest filled with dancers clad in military costume.
