Welsh trio The Joy Formidable, whose ebullient debut EP A Balloon Called Moaning will be released May 4th on Black Bell Records, the label recently launched by Passion Pit’s Ayad Al Adhamy, hit the internets in full force this week. Their previously leaked track “Whirring,” was remixed by New York buzz band BRAHMS. BRAHMS, the synth-driven 3-piece (which includes Cale Parks of Aloha, White Williams) took the already upbeat “Whirring” and sped it up a drop, removing commanding vocalist Ritzy Bryan’s voice from the opening verse so it jumps out even more during its first appearance in the chorus. BRAHMS also added a pumping synth beat and used warm analog tones to replace the original’s searing guitars.
