In 2011 and into the beginning of 2012, Motley Crue did 3 extensive tours, #1: Motley Crue, Poison, and the New York Dolls, #2: Motley Crue and Def Leppard, and lastly: Motley Crue residency in Las Vegas. Over the course of the three tours, the band performed over 60 shows throughout the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
As far as innovative "light bulb" marketing campaign: Motley Crue's Las Vegas residency – Motley took over the town - was the first hard rock residency in Vegas! We (Eleven Seven) employed a huge amount of advertising; cross marketing with the Kia commercial; fly-aways, online promotions, bought radio in some markets; satellite radio tour, and a billboard in LA. In addition, the entire effort was cross marketed with the Greatest Hits album.
